NOTE: If you are a registered SCU student, then you are allowed to use Microsoft Office 365 EDU while you are a student at Santa Clara University. Thirty days after your graduation, your academic version associated with your @SCU email address will be degraded and eventually be deactivated along with SCU/Microsoft Office support. You will then need to purchase your own personal license and/or subscription to continue using Microsoft Office 365.
Also, while Office 365 EDU now has Microsoft Teams included in their basic install package. SCU has not enabled a site license to use Microsoft Teams. SCU, instead, recommends you use SCU Google Apps Meet and Zoom for web conferencing sessions and/or distance learning classes.
Please note that once you have graduated from SCU (or transferred to another school) Microsoft 365 EDU (SCU Licensed version) will not be supported Santa Clara Law Technology or Santa Clara University. In order to have a fully supported copy of Microsoft 365, you will have to purchase a subscription from Microsoft. You will need to back up your office documents first, and then uninstall ( Windows version or Mac version ) Office 365 EDU before you purchase and install your personal copy of Microsoft 365 and/or Microsoft Office 2016 (or later). Microsoft 365 EDU will start to degrade its features 30-days after your graduation date.
|Register, Install, and Activate Microsoft (Office) 365 EDU|
To activate and install your copy of Microsoft Office 365 EDU, you must first create a Microsoft account using your SCU Email address. Visit here.
Enter your SCU GMAIL address and follow the prompts to activate your Microsoft Office 365 portal account.
Microsoft will then send you a verification email to your SCU GMAIL inbox to finalize your Microsoft Office 365 EDU account activation. Once your Microsoft 365 portal account has been activated, log into your Microsoft 365 portal, https://login.microsoftonline.com/When prompted, select "work or school account," then use your verified SCU GMAIL address and password to login the Microsoft 365 portal.
After successfully logging into your Microsoft 365 portal account, click on your name in the upper right corner and "View Account."
Select Install status in the left bar menu and then the link Install Desktop applications.
Click on the Install button to download the Microsoft 365 install file for your OS.
After you have downloaded the install file, find the install file on your local drive and run the install file.
Once you have successfully installed Office 365 EDU, run any application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and sign in your SCU GMAIL address and password to activate your license.
